If you do not agree with any of these Terms & Conditions, do not use this Website.
General
The Terms & Conditions may be modified at any time at Shing Heng’s sole discretion, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting of the modified Terms & Conditions on the Website. You undertake to periodically review the Terms & Conditions, and your continued use of the Website and/or the services provided thereunder shall amount to an acceptance of the modified Terms & Conditions.
This Website (including any related mobile application) is provided "as-is" and without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permissible, and subject and pursuant to applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant or make any representations regarding the correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise of the materials in this Website or the results of their use.
You agree to use this Website in accordance with the Terms & Conditions and for lawful and proper purposes. You agree to be responsible for all matters arising from your use of this Website and you agree to the following:
Not to use this Website in any manner which breaches the Terms & Conditions and/or breaches any applicable law or regulation and/or infringes any third-party rights;
Not to post, transmit or disseminate any information on or via this Website which may be harmful, obscene, defamatory or illegal or create liability on Shing Heng’s part;
Not to interfere or attempt to interfere with the operation or functionality of this Website; and;
Not to obtain or attempt to obtain unauthorized access, via whatever means, to any of Shing Heng’s systems.
If Shing Heng (in its sole discretion) believes that you are in breach, or will be in breach, of any of the Terms & Conditions or any applicable laws or regulations, Shing Heng reserves its right to deny you access to this Website and/or suspend your account with us without giving you a reason and/or without further reference to you. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing herein shall affect your right to deal with Shing Heng in person at any of Shing Heng’s pawnshops.
The failure of Shing Heng to enforce any right or provision of these Terms & Conditions does not constitute any waiver of that right or provision. The waiver of any such right or provision will be effective only if provided in writing.
Registration and Security
If you are required to register and/or open an account with Shing Heng to access the services under the Website (including any mobile applications), you undertake to provide accurate, complete and updated registration information.
You agree that you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and passwords.
Renewal / Redemption of Pawntickets
Upon successful registration and/or opening an account with Shing Heng, you hereby agree to the following terms which govern the renewals and/or redemptions of pawntickets:
You must present both the original physical pawn ticket and the electronic pawn ticket with ID proof (NRIC, FIN card or passport) for renewals and/or redemption at any of Shing Heng’s physical stores. The locations of the stores can be found here (“Shing Heng’s Stores”).
For online renewals of pawntickets, the following apply:
The valuation of the renewed tickets will be shown at the point of renewal. If you do not agree with the valuation, please do not proceed with the renewal.
Information on any fees or interest payable for renewal of the pawntickets will be provided on the Website. You may arrange for payment of such renewal fees online through our website by using the designated online payment service providers. Separate fees may be levied by the designated online payment service providers when using their payment services, and if so, you will be responsible for paying such fees. More information about the online payment service providers can be found below.
The personal particulars required for the renewal of the pawnticket will be automatically filled in based on our records. In the event of any error(s), you should contact our data protection officer to amend your personal particulars. Our contact details are below:
Data Protection Officer, Shing Heng Group
Email: dpo@shingheng.com.sg
Please refer to our Privacy Policy (as mentioned below in Clause 16 for more information).
Electronic pawntickets cannot be transferred or sold. You must come to Shing Heng’s Stores in person to print a physical copy if you wish to transfer or sell any pawntickets.
You may redeem the pledge on or before the final day of the redemption period as stated on the pawnticket.
The Website (and mobile application) only allows for the renewal of existing pawntickets. It does not allow you to pawn new items or redeem existing pawntickets. If you wish to pawn new items or redeem existing pawn tickets, you must visit Shing Heng’s Stores in person.
Please note that for online renewals of pawn tickets, your original pawn ticket is cancelled. However, please DO NOT DISCARD the original physical pawn ticket. For redemption purposes, you need to present both the original physical pawn ticket and the electronic pawn ticket with ID proof (NRIC, FIN card or passport) at Shing Heng’s stores.
You may arrange to make payment for any of our services online through the designated online payment service providers. At present we have partnered with eNets and Red Dot Payment (the “Service Providers”) to provide you with the convenience of such online payments. When using such online payment services, you hereby agree as follows:
To comply with the terms and conditions governing the use of such online payment services;
The use of such online payment services may incur a platform fee or other charges. This sum will first be collected by the Service Providers. After four (4) working days, the Service Providers will disburse the said sum (less the platform fee) to Shing Heng.
Should you use such online payment services, you agree to pay such platform fee or other charges levied by the Service Providers. Alternatively, you can renew your pawnticket in person at any of Shing Heng’s Stores (which would not incur such platform fees or charges);
Any transactions made between you and the Service Providers are strictly a matter between you and the Service Providers. For the avoidance of doubt, the platform fees or charges relating to the use of the online payment services are levied by and paid to the Service Providers and not to Shing Heng. Shing Heng is not responsible or liable for any claims, disputes, chargebacks or disagreements which you may have with the Service Providers;
The Service Providers shall be responsible for any additional security features (such as two-factor authentication) which will be used for such online payment, and you agree that you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and passwords (including any additional security features such as two-factor authentication) when using such online payment services; and
Under no circumstances will Shing Heng be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, exemplary, special or consequential damages that result from the access to or use of, such online payment services. You hereby agree that your claims, if any, arising from any loss, damages or injury arising from use of the online payment service is against the Service Providers and not Shing Heng.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing herein shall limit or affect your right to deal with Shing Heng in person at any of our pawnshops.
